Gwen had no idea why the entire student body was forced to go to orientation. For the freshman, and the older students who were new here, yeah, going to orientation made sense. But the past two years had been exactly the same speech. Classes, dorms, rooms. Freshman year, it had been good to know, but Sophomore year, it was just useless repetition of knowledge she already had. She'd been attending Lenox Academy for the past two years. She was oriented already.
She made her way down the auditorium's center aisle. Most of the seats were empty, just a few students coming in early. A lot, she knew, would flood in before two minutes before orientation would start. She slipped down a row of seats in the center of the auditorium. She liked it towards the middle. She wouldn't have to pay complete attention if she didn't want to, like the kids in front, but wasn't stuck with all students snoring in the back. She took a seat towards the right wall, and set her messenger bag down. She pulled a sketch book from it-she'd gotten tired of her notebooks being half-filled with doodles and bought it before the start of school-and flipped it open. Grabbing a sharp pencil, she started to doodle aimlessly, just trying to kill time before the assembly started.
